Say octopuses got clever. Just clever enough to build rooms and doors. Their door has three knobs and no lock. Turn all three at once and it opens. They don’t add a lock because a lock would be redundant. Nothing gets in or out that doesn’t have the arms for it.
Then they put you in the room and you can’t get out.
That’s what people miss when they complain about AI slop. The good stuff isn’t bloated, it’s the opposite. It strips out every redundant step.
So the question we should ask now isn’t whether a process is efficient. It’s who the efficiency was measured against.
